Who we are

Westar Transportation LLC (“Westar”, “we”) provides non-emergency transportation from Auburn, California. You can reach us at (916) 581-1076 or dispatch@westartransportation.com.

What we collect

When you book a ride online, we collect the rider’s name, who is booking, a callback phone number, an email address if you give one, the pickup and drop-off addresses, the date and time, whether it is a round trip, how the rider gets around (for example, a wheelchair), whether there are stairs, how many companions are coming, and that you agreed to be contacted.

When you send a message, we collect your name, phone number or email, and what you write.

If you sign in to see your rides, we keep your email address, your name, the mobile number you confirm with a texted code and, if you add them, your home address and usual ride type. We use a cookie that keeps you signed in. It is not used for tracking.

When you book while signed in, we fill in the form for you from your account and from what our dispatch office already has on file for your confirmed number, such as your address, your usual ride type and places you’ve been before. You can change anything before you send it.

We don’t ask for medical details, insurance or member numbers, or Social Security numbers on this website. Please don’t send them in a message: we’ll ask for anything we need when we call.

How we use it

• To schedule your ride, give you a price, and call you to confirm it.
• To contact you about your ride or your message, by phone, text or email.
• To bill for the ride and keep the records the law requires.
• To keep riders safe and to prevent abuse of our forms.

We don’t sell your information, and we don’t use it for advertising.

Where it goes

Your booking goes directly from your browser to Westar’s own booking system. From there it is entered in the scheduling software our dispatch office uses, and our dispatch office gets an email with the details. If you give an email address, we send you a copy of your booking. Your information is seen only by Westar staff and the service providers we use to run these systems, who may use it only to provide their service to us.

Our website host keeps standard technical logs (such as the pages visited and your browser type) to run the site. Form details are not sent through the website host.

Text messages

If you tick the box for ride texts (on the booking form or in your account), Westar Transportation LLC texts the mobile number you gave: a reminder the evening before each ride (reply 1 to confirm or 2 to cancel), a text when your driver is on the way, and one when the driver has arrived. We also answer your replies. We don’t send marketing texts. Ride texts come from (916) 824-3491.

Message frequency varies with your rides. Msg & data rates may apply. Reply STOP to stop texts at any time, or HELP for help. You never have to agree to texts to book a ride.

We don’t sell, rent or share your mobile number or your agreement to receive texts with anyone for their marketing or any other purpose. Mobile numbers and text consent are not shared with third parties or affiliates, except the providers that deliver our texts (our texting service and the phone carriers), who may use them only to deliver our messages. We keep a record of when and how you agreed to texts, and when you opt out.

Cookies and tracking

This website doesn’t use advertising cookies or tracking pixels. We use Vercel Web Analytics to count anonymous visits to this site; it sets no cookies and does not identify you.

How long we keep it

We keep ride records for as long as we need them to provide and bill for rides, and as long as the law requires. Messages are kept as long as needed to answer them.

Children

Our website and rider accounts are meant for adults. We don’t knowingly collect personal information directly from children under 13. When a ride is for a child, a parent, guardian or authorized caregiver books it and gives their own contact details; we use the child’s name and trip details only to provide and coordinate the ride. If you think a child under 13 has given us personal information, call (916) 581-1076 or email dispatch@westartransportation.com and we will delete it.

Your choices

You can ask to see, correct or delete the information we hold about you, or ask us to stop texting you, by calling (916) 581-1076 or emailing dispatch@westartransportation.com. Reply STOP to any text message to stop texts.

Changes

If we change this notice, we’ll update the date at the top of this page.
